Active Lives
Day Program
Our day program supports adults aged 18 and older with a wide range of needs and exceptionalities. Our program welcomes individuals who may live with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delays, Acquired Brain Injuries, Epilepsy, and other neurodiverse or complex support needs. We also support participants with physical disabilities, mobility challenges, and varying levels of communication or behavioral support requirements.
We are proud to provide an inclusive environment for individuals with sensory differences as well, including those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Blind or low vision, or who benefit from adaptive supports. Every participant is treated as an individual, and our programming is designed to meet people where they are, helping them build skills, confidence, and connection in a safe and supportive community.

The Tier System
At Active Lives Canada, we believe every adult deserves a place where they feel safe, included, and supported to live a full and meaningful life. Our Day Program is built around a personalized tier system, ensuring each participant receives the right level of care, supervision, and encouragement to thrive. Whether someone needs hands-on support or simply a welcoming community, we create an environment where every individual is valued and empowered.
Tier 1 is for participants who require higher levels of support, including behavioural guidance, medical considerations, or closer supervision. With a 1:1 or 1:2 staff-to-participant ratio, our team provides consistent care so each person can participate comfortably and safely.
Tier 2 supports individuals who benefit from moderate assistance, such as help with communication, social interaction, or daily transitions. With a 1:3 ratio, participants receive the right balance of guidance and connection within a supportive group setting.
Tier 3 is designed for participants who require minimal direct support and are able to engage in activities, outings, and programming with staff available as needed. This tier offers a strong sense of belonging, purpose, and community.
Our Community Partners & Instructors
At Active Lives Canada, our community connections are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to partner with incredible local organizations such as the ReUse Store in Orangeville, the Salvation Army, and 10 and 10 Garden Centre. Through these relationships, participants have meaningful opportunities to volunteer, give back, and feel a true sense of belonging within the community. From helping at local sites to hosting community car washes and outreach initiatives, we focus on building real-world life skills, job readiness, and confidence through hands-on experience and purposeful engagement.
Our program is also enriched by a wide range of passionate instructors who bring energy, learning, and excitement into every week. Participants enjoy everything from basketball and cooking to yoga, Zumba, art therapy, and so much more. With new activities, movement, creativity, and skill-building always happening, the fun never stops at Active Lives. Each experience is designed to support daily living, personal growth, and lifelong learning in a way that is joyful, empowering, and meaningful.
