Enriching Lives Of Adults Beyond Disability
About
Active Lives
Canada
Active Lives is a charitable organization that serves adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders (“exceptionalities”). Active Lives provides an integrated team of developmental General Practitioners (GP), psychiatrist, clinicians, and therapists who will work together with families to achieve the best possible outcomes for their loved ones with exceptionalities. The team will provide developmental medical care; language and social communication; occupational, physio and behavioural therapies; day, leisure and respite programs. As well, services would be available for mental health and wellness support for individuals and families. Active Lives believes that when a person turns 18 years of age, their lives should not have to change - we believe it should get better.
Executive Directors Welcome
Active Lives started off as a fee for service model day program for adults with a variety of disabilities. Our new model is to create the first ever one stop shop for adults with a variety of exceptionalities. This will be done by combining clinicians, recreational activities, respite, and day program services all in one facility. Active Lives is striving to be a multi facet charitable organization that is able to treat clients medically and emotionally. We want to ensure that all exceptional individuals have the right to the best treatment and care past 18 years of age.

There are many organizations designed to assist adults with a variety of special needs however they are lacking a multidisciplinary team approach that not only creates treatment plans but also has clinicians and therapists to follow through with those plans. Active Lives will provide a place where therapies combined with continuing education and recreational skills can be carried out.
Active Lives believes that adulthood should be the beginning not the end of growth!
Mission
Active Lives believes all persons with exceptionalities deserve and have the right to the best treatment and care past 18 years of age. The mission of Active Lives is to provide quality health and services for the community; to promote wellness; and to relieve stress on an aging population. As well, we will create a safe and secure environment for treatments and ongoing services and develop new opportunities for clientele growth.

Active Lives is striving for a future where there is a one stop organization for adults living with exceptionalities. A place where adults with disabilities can go for medical, therapeutic, educational, leisure, respite & emotional care.
