In a place where imagination roams free and every roar, pounce, and stomp brings the wild to life, something exciting is happening at Active Lives Canada Get Up and Move Camp. At Mono Pines Campground, campers will step into a world of adventure, inspired by the excitement and wonder of the animal kingdom. On Lions, Tigers & Bears Day, participants become explorers, zookeepers, and wildlife adventurers, discovering the strengths, movements, and sounds of some of the most iconic animals. From movement-based challenges and obstacle courses to creative animal crafts and sensory activities, every moment encourages participation, teamwork, and imagination. This is not just a theme day. This is Lions, Tigers & Bears Day at Mono Pines Campground, where every camper can embrace their wild side.
Lions, Tigers & Bears Day Schedule Location: Mono Pines Campground
9:45 a.m. – Arrival & Wild Welcome Campers arrive and gather at the outdoor “base camp.” Groups are formed, and each team chooses an animal theme—Lions, Tigers, or Bears—to guide their day of adventure.
10:00 a.m. – Animal Craft Station Campers rotate through hands-on craft activities, including: Creating animal masks or paw prints, Painting or decorating animal tails and badges, Making jungle-themed banners or posters. Staff guide participation, encourage creativity, and celebrate each camper’s unique contributions.
11:15 a.m. – Wild Movement Circuit Teams rotate through movement-based stations inspired by animals, such as: Lion lunges and tiger leaps, obstacle courses, Bear crawl relay races, Animal-themed balance and coordination challenges, Team problem-solving adventures. Points are awarded for effort, teamwork, and cheering for teammates.
12:15 p.m. – Lunch in the Animal Clearing Campers eat together in a shaded area. Spirit points are given for cooperation, helpfulness, and respecting camp rules.
1:00 p.m. – Water Safari & Sensory Fun Campers cool off with water-based animal adventures, such as: Sponge toss, “river crossing” challenges, Bucket relay, “watering the jungle” Splash and spray games inspired by animal habitats. All activities are supervised, adapted to comfort levels, and focused on participation and fun.
2:00 p.m. – Animal Games & Team Challenges Large-group games encourage movement, teamwork, and imagination, including: Predator-prey tag games, Parachute “jungle storm” challenges, Team relay courses with animal-themed tasks. Campers participate at their own pace while supporting teammates.
2:45 p.m. – Final Animal Obstacle Course Teams complete a cooperative obstacle course combining movement, balance, cheering, and teamwork. Supporting teammates is part of the adventure.
3:30 p.m. – Wild Showcase & Reflection Campers share their crafts, team banners, and favourite moments from the day. Teams reflect on what they learned about teamwork, creativity, and their animal strengths.
3:50 p.m. – Lions, Tigers & Bears Closing Ceremony All campers are recognized for effort, participation, imagination, and team spirit. The day concludes with a group celebration of everyone’s wild achievements.
4:00 p.m. – Load the Bus & Head Home Campers leave feeling proud, energized, and inspired after a full day of adventure, movement, and creativity at Mono Pines Campground.
