Movie & Splash: Alliston Adventure Day
At Active Lives Canada Get Up and Move Camp, we’re heading out for a day full of laughter, movement, and adventure. Campers will enjoy a private movie screening of “Rio” at the Alliston Circle Movie Theatre before cooling off and having fun at the Alliston Public Pool. This day is designed to balance excitement and relaxation, giving campers the chance to experience something new while staying within familiar routines. Small, supported groups, clear transitions, and staff guidance will ensure everyone feels confident and comfortable while enjoying each activity. This is Movie & Splash Day in Alliston, where fun, movement, and shared experiences make memories that last.
Alliston Adventure Day Schedule Locations: Alliston Circle Movie Theatre & Alliston Public Pool
9:45 a.m. – Arrival & Bus Departure Campers arrive at the meeting location, gather in groups, and prepare for the day. Staff review the schedule, assign seats on the bus, and ensure everyone is ready for the first adventure.
10:15 a.m. – Private Movie Screening: “Rio” Campers enjoy a private showing of the animated film Rio. Staff support participants with sensory needs, assist with seating, and encourage positive movie theatre behaviour. Groups are encouraged to share laughs, react to the story, and enjoy the cinematic experience together.
12:00 p.m. – Lunch in the Park / Outdoor Area Campers eat packed lunches in a nearby shaded area. Spirit points are awarded for cooperation, helping peers, and respectful behaviour. This break gives campers a chance to refuel and socialize before heading to the pool.
12:45 p.m. – Bus Departure to Alliston Public Pool Campers board the bus in small groups and prepare for water fun at the public pool. Staff review safety rules and ensure proper supervision.
1:15 p.m. – Public Swimming & Water Activities Under the supervision of lifeguards and camp staff, campers enjoy free swim time and water-based games. Activities may include: Noodle races and float challenges, Splash games and cooperative water relays, Sensory-friendly water play options for those who prefer a gentler experience. Campers are encouraged to participate at their comfort level, cheer for teammates, and practice water safety skills.
2:45 p.m. – Pool Wrap-Up & Snack Break Campers gather their belongings, dry off, and enjoy a light snack. Staff assist with transitions, changes, and preparing for departure.
3:15 p.m. – Bus Departure & Return to Camp / Meeting Location. Campers board the bus and reflect on their favourite parts of the day. Staff support social interaction and conversation during the ride.
3:50 p.m. – Arrival & Closing Reflection Campers return to camp or the meeting location. Groups share highlights, celebrate participation, and reflect on teamwork, fun, and new experiences from the day.
4:00 p.m. – Parent Pick-Up / Head Home Campers leave feeling proud, happy, and energized after a day of movies, water play, and friendship.
