Cowboy Day

Cowboy Day Schedule Location: Teen Ranch

9:45 a.m. – Arrival & Ranch Welcome Campers arrive and gather at the main ranch area. Groups are formed and given ranch-style team names. Bandanas or badges are handed out to set the tone for the day.

10:00 a.m. – Cowboy Craft Corral Campers rotate through craft stations such as: Decorating bandanas or cowboy hats, Creating sheriff badges or ranch signs, Designing hobby horses or western-themed art. Staff support creativity and participation at every station.

11:15 a.m. – Ranch Games Circuit Teams rotate through inclusive, cowboy-inspired movement stations, including: Lasso practice with ropes or hula hoops, “Cattle drive” relay races, Barrel races and balance challenges, Team problem-solving ranch tasks. Points focus on effort, teamwork, and encouragement.

12:15 p.m. – Chuckwagon Lunch Campers enjoy lunch together in a shaded ranch area. Spirit points are awarded for cooperation, helping peers, and respectful behaviour.

1:00 p.m. – Water Trough Cool-Down Campers cool off with water-based ranch activities such as: Sponge toss and bucket fill challenges, Water spray target games, Sensory water play stations. All activities are supervised and adapted for comfort and ability levels.

2:00 p.m. – Ranch Team Challenges Large-group games encourage teamwork and movement, including: Tug-style rope games (adapted), Parachute “dust storm” activities, Obstacle courses inspired by ranch life. Campers participate at their own pace while cheering on teammates.

2:45 p.m. – Final Rodeo Challenge Teams complete a cooperative ranch obstacle course combining movement, balance, and problem-solving. Supporting teammates is part of the challenge.

3:30 p.m. – Ranch Showcase & Reflection Campers share crafts, team chants, and favourite moments from the day. Groups reflect on teamwork, perseverance, and what made them great ranch hands.

3:50 p.m. – Cowboy Day Closing Ceremony: All campers are recognized for effort, teamwork, creativity, and ranch spirit. The day ends with a group celebration of everyone’s contributions.

4:00 p.m. – Load the Bus & Head Home Campers leave feeling proud, energized, and full of cowboy memories after a day of adventure, movement, and connection at Teen Ranch.
