Wild West Day Schedule Location: Museum of Dufferin
9:45 a.m. – Arrival & Frontier Welcome Campers arrive and gather at the museum entrance. Groups are formed, and each team receives a Wild West name and “badge” to start the adventure.
10:00 a.m. – Pioneer Craft Station Campers rotate through hands-on history-inspired stations such as: Making paper cowboy hats or pioneer badges, Creating frontier town maps or wanted posters, Crafting simple leather or fabric accessories. Staff guide participants through each craft, encouraging creativity, fine motor skills, and pride in their work.
11:15 a.m. – History Exploration & Scavenger Hunt Campers explore museum exhibits with interactive prompts and scavenger hunt clues. Activities include: Discovering artifacts from pioneer life, Learning about transportation, tools, and clothing from the era, and completing team challenges that encourage observation and curiosity.
12:15 p.m. – Lunch in the Saloon. Clearing Campers eat together in a designated outdoor or indoor area. Spirit points are awarded for teamwork, helping peers, and following museum rules.
1:00 p.m. – Wild West Movement Games Campers participate in frontier-inspired movement challenges such as: “Cattle Drive” relay races, Lasso practice with ropes or hula hoops, Wagon wheel balance, and obstacle games. Activities are inclusive, supporting different abilities and comfort levels.
2:00 p.m. – Wild West Water Fun A water-based activity session helps campers cool down and adds sensory fun: Sponge “water fight” challenges, Bucket relay races, Splash and toss games. Staff ensure all water activities are safe, supervised, and adapted as needed.
2:45 p.m. – Team Frontier Challenge Teams tackle cooperative problem-solving challenges inspired by pioneer life, such as: Building a simple “fort” with natural or provided materialsTeam puzzles, and obstacle tasks. Cheering for teammates is part of the fun!
3:30 p.m. – Show & Tell at the Town Square Campers share their crafts, discoveries, and favourite moments from the day. Teams reflect on what they learned about history, teamwork, and creativity.
3:50 p.m. – Wild West Closing Ceremony: All campers are recognized for effort, courage, imagination, and cooperation. The day ends with a group celebration of everyone’s contributions to the adventure.
4:00 p.m. – Load the Bus & Head Home Campers leave feeling proud, inspired, and full of Wild West memories after a day of history, creativity, and movement.
