Christmas Cheer: A Festive Celebration at Mono Pines Campground.

In a place where twinkling lights, holiday songs, and laughter fill the air, something magical is happening at Active Lives Canada Get Up and Move Camp. At Mono Pines Campground, campers will step into a world of festive fun, creativity, and holiday spirit. Christmas Day invites campers to participate in holiday-themed games, crafts, and team challenges. From decorating ornaments and creating festive crafts to cooperative movement games and water play, every activity encourages joy, teamwork, and holiday cheer. This is not just a theme day. This is Christmas Day at Mono Pines, where every camper becomes part of a magical holiday adventure.

Christmas Day Schedule Location: Mono Pines Campground

9:45 a.m. – Arrival & Team Santa Assignment Campers arrive and are divided into festive teams (e.g., Reindeer, Elves, Snowflakes, Candy Canes). Each team receives a banner or badge and learns a holiday cheer for the day.

10:00 a.m. – Christmas Craft Workshop Teams rotate through creative stations: Decorate ornaments, hats, or festive banners. Make holiday cards or keepsakes. Create team snowflake or gingerbread decorations. Staff provide support to ensure all campers can participate successfully.

11:15 a.m. – Holiday Movement Circuit Teams rotate through indoor and outdoor games: Snowball Toss (beanbag target game), Reindeer Relay Races, Candy Cane Scavenger Hunt, Team Puzzle Challenges with holiday twists. Points are awarded for teamwork, effort, and holiday spirit.

12:15 p.m. – Festive Lunch Campers eat together in a decorated space. Spirit points are awarded for cooperation, helping teammates, and sharing holiday cheer.

1:00 p.m. – Swimming & Splash Pad Fun Campers enjoy supervised water activities: Free swim and recreational water play. Sponge toss, “snowball” games Team relay challenges in the splash pad. Lifeguards and staff ensure safety and provide adaptations for all comfort levels.

2:00 p.m. – Large-Group Holiday Games Campers participate in inclusive games: Parachute “snowstorm” activities, Capture-the-flag with holiday twists, Holiday-themed obstacle course combining balance, speed, and teamwork. Campers participate at their own pace while cheering on teammates.

2:45 p.m. – Christmas Showdown Challenge Teams compete in a cooperative final event combining movement, problem-solving, and festive activities. Every camper’s participation contributes to team success.

3:30 p.m. – Christmas Showcase & Reflection Teams share crafts, chants, and favourite moments. Reflection focuses on teamwork, creativity, and holiday spirit.

3:50 p.m. – Closing Ceremony & Team Recognition All campers are recognized for effort, participation, and holiday cheer. Winning teams are celebrated, but every camper leaves proud of their festive contributions.

4:00 p.m. – Load the Bus & Head Home Campers leave smiling, energized, and full of Christmas spirit after a full day of movement, crafts, swimming, and holiday fun at Mono Pines Campground.
