In a place where laughter, good food, and community come together, something special is happening at Active Lives Canada Get Up and Move Camp. At Fiddlehead Park, campers and their families will enjoy a full day of outdoor fun, delicious potluck food, and engaging games designed to bring everyone together. The Potluck Family Picnic invites families to spend the day playing inclusive games, exploring nature, creating crafts, and sharing favourite foods. From relay races and scavenger hunts to cooperative challenges and free play, every moment is designed for connection, teamwork, and joyful family experiences. This is not just a picnic. This is a full-day family celebration at Fiddlehead Park, where everyone can play, laugh, and enjoy the outdoors together.

Full-Day Potluck Family Picnic Schedule Location: Fiddlehead Park

8:30 a.m. – Arrival & Drop-Off Families arrive early to set up picnic areas and get oriented for the day. Staff greet participants, review the schedule, and organize teams for activities.

9:00 a.m. – Morning Movement & Icebreakers Start the day with fun, energizing games to get everyone moving: Team warm-up activities, Family scavenger hunt kickoff, Icebreaker games to meet other campers.

10:00 a.m. – Creative Crafts & Holiday Corner Families rotate through craft stations: Make nature-inspired art or friendship bracelets. Seasonal or holiday-themed crafts, group banners, or decorations for team spirit

11:00 a.m. – Potluck Lunch Preparation & Social Time. Families prepare their shared dishes at their picnic spots. Staff organize areas for safe serving and seating, ensuring everyone has a chance to enjoy the potluck together.

12:00 p.m. – Potluck Lunch & Family Social Enjoy a relaxing lunch outdoors. Spirit points are awarded for teamwork, sharing, and kindness. Families can socialize and connect with other campers during mealtime.

1:00 p.m. – Afternoon Picnic Games Families rotate through inclusive, outdoor games: Sack Races & Relay Races, Egg-and-Spoon or Beanbag Toss, Tug-of-War & Parachute Games, Team Scavenger Hunt. Games are designed to be fun for all ages and abilities.

2:00 p.m. – Free Play & Exploration Families can explore the park or participate in optional activities: Nature walks or sensory explorationBall games or frisbee. Quiet craft or drawing activities

2:45 p.m. – Team Challenge Showdown Families come together for cooperative team challenges: Obstacle Course Relay, Balloon Pop Challenge, Group Cheer & Song Competition Participation from everyone counts toward team spirit and fun.

3:30 p.m. – Celebration & Reflection Families gather to share favourite moments, crafts, and achievements from the day. Staff highlight teamwork, creativity, and fun moments.

3:50 p.m. – Closing Ceremony & Recognition All participants are recognized for their effort, teamwork, and community spirit. Every family leaves feeling proud of their contributions to a joyful day outdoors.

4:00 p.m. – Departure Families pack up and head home, carrying memories of a full day filled with games, laughter, crafts, and delicious potluck treats at Fiddlehead Park.
