Harry Potter Day: A Magical Adventure at Marsville Community Centre.
In a place where imagination is welcomed and every camper belongs, something truly magical comes to life at Active Lives Canada – Get Up and Move Camp.
For one unforgettable day at the Marsville Community Centre, the ordinary disappears, and a wizarding world takes its place. Inspired by the magic, friendship, and courage found in the Harry Potter universe, campers are invited to step into a fully transformed space where movement, creativity, and storytelling come together. From floating candles and interactive wands to magical classes and team challenges, every moment is designed to spark wonder and excitement. This is a day where campers are encouraged to explore, move, create, and connect in ways that feel safe, inclusive, and empowering. Houses work together, cheers echo through the halls, and every camper becomes part of something special. This is Harry Potter Day, where magic, movement, and belonging meet.
Harry Potter Day Schedule Location: Marsville Community Centre
9:45 a.m. – Arrival & Welcome to Hogwarts Campers arrive and enter the transformed community centre. Soft music, themed décor, and floating candle displays set the tone as campers gather in the Great Hall.
10:00 a.m. – The Sorting Ceremony. Each camper takes part in the Sorting Ceremony using the Sorting Hat and is assigned to a Hogwarts house. House colours, banners, and cheers are introduced, building excitement and a strong sense of belonging that carries throughout the day.
10:30 a.m. – Magical Class Rotation (Indoor Stations) Campers rotate through interactive, staff-supported stations including: Potions Class with hands-on sensory experiments, Charms & Magic Movement using imagination and guided motion, Divination & Wizard Games focused on curiosity and teamwork, Wizard Crafts creating take-home magical keepsakes. All stations are accessible, flexible, and adapted to support different comfort and ability levels.
12:15 p.m. – Harry Potter–Themed Lunch in the Great Hall. Campers eat together while remaining immersed in the wizarding world. Lunch is relaxed and social, giving campers time to recharge, connect, and share favourite moments so far.
1:00 p.m. – Quidditch on the Field Campers head outdoors to the baseball field for a modified, inclusive game of Quidditch. Activities are adapted so everyone can participate safely and confidently, focusing on movement, teamwork, and fun.
2:00 p.m. – Magical Challenge Stations (Indoor & Outdoor) House teams take part in additional wizard-inspired challenges, puzzles, and cooperative games that reinforce teamwork, problem-solving, and encouragement.
2:45 p.m. – House Cup Final Challenge: All houses come together for a cooperative final activity that combines movement, cheering, and teamwork. This is the final opportunity to earn House Cup points.
3:30 p.m. – House Showcase & Reflection Houses gather to share crafts, chants, and favourite moments from the day. Campers reflect on teamwork, bravery, and what made the day magical for them.
3:50 p.m. – House Cup & Closing Ceremony: House points are announced and the House Cup is awarded. All campers are recognized for effort, participation, teamwork, and spirit, ensuring everyone leaves feeling proud and celebrated.
4:00 p.m. – Load the Bus & Head Home Campers leave smiling, energized, and full of magical memories from a day they will remember long after it ends.
